USED SCRATCH OFF FILM APPLICATOR DEVICES
Apiel manufactures devices for the recovery of the scratch-off films, used in the personalisation of phone cards.
The device is applied in hot foil modules that apply the film that obscures the secret codes.
Traditional application involves use of film as shown in the figure beside position "1".
With the use of the recovery device, you can use the film already used for another printing.
The figure beside position "2" shows the scratch-off after the second pass of printing.
As you can see the product is used almost 100% with a significant reduction in production costs.
The recovery device allows of halving the use of scratch-off: the used film reels, rewound during the printing process of the virgin film, are mounted on the recovery device for a second printing.
The recovery device is an aligner capable of maintaining the scratch used correctly positioned under the wheel during the hot foil printing process.
On the left is shown a picture of a recovery device installed on a machine Card Line of the company Atlantic Zeiser. The recovery devices (aligners) do not require changes to the control software and of the personalisation machine. Apiel fits the aligners to size and structure of machines to whitch they are applied.
The recovery devices are fully automatic and require no manual operation. To the operator is simply asked to insert the film used in the tow belt and wrapping the film around the idler wheel.
The picture alongside shows an hot foil module Atlantic Zeiser. The module has to the right a reel holder for new scratch; to center a reel holder for used scratch-off, to the left a reel holder for rewind of the film during production.
The card on the side is personalized with the use of scratch-off recovery. The machine Car Lined used for the personalization of cards, has installed two hot foil modules, on each of which is installed an Apiel scratch off recovery device.
Are available single devices (one recovery device on personalisation machine) and double device (two recovery devices installed on a single machine with two hot foil module). The double device has a unique electrical panel, one PLC and one operator panel for both groups.
Recovery device also differ in the type of equipment.
We have a base model and an extra model.
The extra model has a brushless servomotor instead of a stepper motor, ensuring low noise, perfect operation even at very low speed.
The extra model also has a touch screen operator panel 3"1/2 instead of the operatore panel 2x20 characters.
Even at the sensors level, the extra model has an additional photocell to control the scratch,
and uses an incremental encoder to detect the chain speed.
The encoder provides better performance at very low speed.

SCRATCH OFF FOIL REWINDER
The rewinder makes rewinding of scratch-off used reels for reuse in saver devices.
The rewinding of the scratch is necessary when you have to reuse scratch with asymmetrical graphics:
no rewinding, reuse of the scratch leads to impressions overturned.
For example, if the graphic has the word "WIND", unwinding the virgin film,
the sequence of characters that go under the hot foil wheel will be W, I, N, D.
The film used in CARDLINE hot foil module, is rewinded with the characters W first and last D.
Unwinding the same reel on the recovery device, the characters will come out in the sequence D, N, I, W,
and consequently under the hot foil wheel will be printed in reverse sequence, and thus reversed.
To recover the correct orientation, you can use the rewinder. This device, rewinding the film, recover the initial orientation of the graphics.
The other function of this device is to check the status the used scratch off reels before being used in the recovery devices. Thanks to a series of sensors, it is possible measure the number of restarts on the tape and their position. You can also check the pitch of impressions on the used tape to ensure compatibility with the CARDLINE that will use the reel.
