Automatic machine for checking concentricity
Apiel produces automatic measuring machine for dimensional checks both online and offline, for productions that require quality control of extended volume.

The measuring machines are designed and manufactured according to the specific needs and may control the size, shape and eccentricity. An example of implementation is the next machine, which checks the concentric shafts in automatic mode. The operator must only make the machine load (up to 28 pieces).

The machines, using gauges and electronic transducers are able to automate the quality control in the workshop. After the machine tool can be used for fitting the back of them.

In machine control mechanical shafts, the pieces are placed on two timing belt. The pieces move one step at a time, so as to take one by one in the control area. With the workpiece in position, drive the tailstock locking the piece. Once brought the piece into position to operate the motor of the tailstock that rotates the drive shaft. With a series of electronic transducers proceed to collect the data necessary to determine if the part is within tolerance or is to be discarded.

After the measurement, the transducers back to rest position and the motor stops. The live re-open in order to release the piece back on the timing belt. The system starts again, moving the strap of a step, so as to position the next piece in the position of control.

Vertical machine to automatically measure the concentricity

The figure next to it is a measurnig machine for shafts; as the horizontal model, performs the dimensional checks of shafts in an automatic way. Growing vertically in the machine greatly reduces the space occupied at soil (appreciated feature workshops).

These machines perform automated checks at fixed positions. We can make machines for measurements at fixed sites, using a transducer for each measurement point, or machines with mobile transducers.

The off line machines, have a stock pieces to give autonomy to the measures. The in-line machines allow you to immediately report malfunctioning of the machine tool and do not need magazines. In in-line systems can keep the workpiece in position for later ordered movements.

The dimensional measuring machines use an HMI user interface. Omron PLC manages all automation functions. The automation software can be customized according to specific measurement needs.

The transducers that are commonly used, are LVDT, resolution 2.5 mm.

The movement of transducers and feedback is achieved by means of rails on which trolleys run ball high precision. The pre-loaded trucks provide good smoothness and high accuracy.
