AUTOMATIC INTERLEAF APPLICATOR

In order to enable maximum productivity and versatility of palletizers, APIEL is able to provide two types of automatic interleaf applicatos.

COLUMN INTERLEAF APPLICATOR

We produce two different models of column interleaf applicators:

Column interleaf applicator 0-90

The suction cups gripping unit is attached to the end of an arm that can rotate 90° in the horizontal plane. The arm moves vertically with a maximum stroke of 2000mm. A second articulated arm allows to avoid the rotation of the grip head, during the rotation of the arm. The rotation of the head can be performed with a cylinder to achieve special positioning solutions. Economic model that uses asynchronous motors and inverters.

Column interleaf applicator 0-270

The arm which carries the gripping head can rotate 270°, and can position itself at any point of the stroke. Thanks to a mechanical transmission, the interleaf gripping head does not rotate during rotation of the arm. The gripping head can translate along the axis of the arm with a pneumatic actuator: the stroke can vary from 0 to 400mm.


RAIL INTERLEAF APPLICATOR

This product is suitable for all applications that require the placement of the interleaf, on multiple palletizing stations. The machine picks up the interleaves from a single cetralized warehouse.. The palletizing stations can belong to only one machine, or belong to more palletizers. The figure below shows a palletizer (black) with the positioning system (red) during placing an interleaf. Positioning is complete, the gripper head is lifted, it retracts to take out the machine footprint. The palletizer can then go back to work and the machine can pick up a new interleaf.

The components of the machine are: the rail, the trolley, the interleaves warehouse, and the control panel.
The track consists of a pair of round tubes with 500mm pitch. An electrified track, is used to power the holder interleaf carriage. The rail must be positioned above the frame of the palletizer. The track consists of straight lines and curves that allow you to create the path necessary to reach all points of the plant.

The carriage that moves the interleaves, runs on the rails by means of rubber wheels. The carriage is self-propelled. On the carriage, we have: the motor for displacing on the rail, the PLC for control of the translation and all the movements, an uninterruptible power supply to ensure continuity, the gripper head with suction cups for attaching the interleaf, the winch to the vertical movement of the gripper head and arm positioning of the gripper head.

The warehouse interleaves, is simply a structural containment. Its position can also be distant from the point of use of interleaves.

The electrical panel that is placed on the ground, contains: electromechanical elements and security of supply carriage, through the electrified track. For the control of the machine, we have an operator panel connected to the carriage by means of a wireless ethernet. Communication with the rest of the system, can be through modules I/O Ethernet or through a second PLC also equipped with Ethernet port.

The carriage is shaped and installed to be able to move freely from one location to another of the plant, without interfering with the bodies in motion of the palletizer. The arm of the carriage carrying the gripping head of the interleaf, can rotate in the horizontal plane.

The carriage moves next to the interleaves warehouse, the arm rotates to bring the gripping head in line with the sheets. The winch lowers the gripper head up to the first interleaf; the head by means of four suction cups, hooks and raises the interleaf. Completed lifting, the arm rotates to bring the head out of footprint. Start the translation movement of the carriage to the point of application of the interleaf. Reached the point, the truck is waiting for the consent of the palletizer. Occurred on command, the arm rotate to bring the interleaf in line with the pallet; the winch lowers the interleaf on the pallet. Completed the release, head goes back up and when the rotation of the arm is completed, the PLC sends the consent to restart the palletisation..
