AUTOMATED ASSEMBY LINES AND MACHINES
AUTOMATIC GLUING MACHINE
Apiel Automation deals with the design, construction and installation of automatic assembly machines and lines.
Customer support is guaranteed by Apiel Automation itself, which, being the custodian of the system's know-how,
is able to guarantee maximum efficiency in solving problems on automatic lines.
The end customer is also supported with the creation of post-sale modifications and additional systems on existing automatic lines.
If you have any processes to automate, you can submit them to our technical office for a proposal.

Apiel Automation machines and automated lines to make even complex assemblies.
The assembly can be made for screwing, gluing or fitting.
We can provide from simple pick and place systems to complex multi-axis automatic machine
for the assembly of several tens of elements
Our systems can be a single machine or automatic assembly line.
To store the individual components of the assemby, are used:
pallet chuck, accumulation tables, vertical feeders, baskets.
If the component allows, we also use vibrating feeders.
The machines we produce, include cartesian robot for handling of components and the warehouses
for the ordered storage the components.
Due to the specificity and complexity of applications, the machines are adapted to the needs of each customer.
We have developed systems for the assembly of fittings, guide the furniture industry
and for the production of displays and samples ceramic tiles.
Here are some realizations.
AUTOMATIC MACHINE FOR FITTINGS ASSEMBLY
The two pictures above and next to depict a machine for the assembly of brass fittings represented in the figure below.
The fitting consists of a body (larger component), a retaining ring (smaller component) and a nut (component on the left).
The machine can assemble 10 different types of fittings: 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1" 1/2, 2"both male and female.
The machine has a warehouse that contains the trays with the fitting body (right side).
A 3-axis Cartesian robot, pick up the body and puts it in one of screwing groups.
The rings (left) and the nuts of the fitting (right) lean on an accumulation table made of steel slat chains, .
The table, advancing, pushes rings and nuts into two funnels with mobile guides; from the funnels comes out a ring and a nut at a time.
A manipulator (2 ° photo of the page) places the ring on the body and then the nut that is tightened.
Fully assembled, the robot removes down the fitting, from the screwing group, and puts it on a conveyor.
The photo here shows the automated warehouse of bodies trays.
On the right side is inserted into the stack of trays with the fittings.
On the left side you extract the empty trays.
The machine is controlled by a PLC Omron CJ1M that drives the Panasonic servo drives with brush less motors.
The operator interface is made with an Omron panel.
A peculiarity of the machine is the automatic size change of the accumulation table.
The funnel guides and rings and nut arrests are motorized and automatically adjust the size of the fitting.
AUTOMATIC GLUING MACHINE
In the figure on the right shows the inside of a machine for automatic gluing of the tiles ceramic samples of the photo below on the right.
The assembly machine, fully automatic, is equipped with 2 cartesian robots, with 8 servo axes.
The cartesian gantry robot (top on the photo) hooks the pieces of tile with suction cups and lean them on the printed cardboard support.
The two axes robot (bottom in the figure) delivers the glue on the cardboard, before placing the piece of tile.
To the left is depicted an example of a sample assembled with the automatic mounting machine.
The automatic sample mount device, is able to paste samples from one up to 40 pieces of different tile.
The size of the pieces of tile vary from a minimum of 40x40 to a maximum of 300x300.
The glue dispenser robot is equipped with a photocell laser which, together with an appropriate software,
is able to accurately detect the position of the graphics on the cardboard.
Shown at left is two of the 20 loaders that contain pieces of tile.
The machine is equipped with 8 loaders workpieces up to 100x100mm, 10 loaders up to 200x200mm and two 300x300 loaders.
The height loaders of 1m, allows to have an autonomy of approx 100 pieces.
The loaders are adjustable, in two dimensions, by means of guides.
The load is carried out from above while picking is from the bottom; this allows the load even during the work of the machine.
The pieces of tile extracts by the loader are subsequently centered by a suitable device, to obtain the maximum bonding precision.
Is possible to alternate on a single loader two different types of tile (provided with the same size) in order to double the number of different pieces glued on the same folder.
The centering device also performs a dimensional control on the pieces of tile, allowing it to not paste pieces outside dimension.
To the left is shown a pair of Cartesian axes that inserted in the mounting system, have the dual function of adhesive dispensing and sheet feeder.
The carriage which moves transversely (from right to left) brings a dispenser for hot glue (hot melt) and one for cold glue (silicone).
It is possible to dispense the glue according profiles and speed programmable as desired by the operator.
The transverse axis carries a pair of suction cups for gripping the sheets of cardboard on which must be glued pieces of tile.
PLUGS SEMI-AUTOMATIC ASSEMBLY MACHINE
The left figure below, displays a machine for mounting plugs for drawer slides.
The assembly diagram is shown in the drawing below right.
The plugs are contained in a vibrant feeder that stacked them on a conveyor.
The belt carries the plugs in an inserter that brings them under one punch.
The operator must place the guide on a reference pin.
With a press of the pedal, the punch forces the plug into the hole.
